Hello, I am Jane and I have three children, Amelia, Rebecca and Alex. Both Amelia and Alex have special needs and are wheelchair bound which places additional issues on the family.
The motivation for starting my business
Having given up working as a Compensation and Benefits Manager in London to look after the children, I set up an advertising business working from home with my cousin. This has been successful and is now into its 6th year but doesn’t offer any long term security. After meeting Karen at a networking event, I decided to sign up as a customer but then decided that I had nothing to loose in becoming a distributor.
What I like most about the business
I like the flexibility of the business. I can fit it into my main work schedule and also around my family life. I don’t have to work during the school holidays but I know that my income will continue to grow as my team grows.
Every morning I look at my online database to see how many customers and distributors have joined my team. Even if I haven’t got time to work on the business, it is still growing and it is exciting seeing other team members succeeding.
What I plan to do with my income
Primarily my income is to provide me with a pension and to have a choice as to when I want to stop working. However, I would like to be able to move into an older style property but with enough space to accommodate all the necessary equipment and sensory areas required for two children with disabilities.
Advice I would give to someone considering starting this business
You have nothing to loose so go ahead and get started!! Even if something stops you from progressing for a short time, it will always be there and can be restarted at any time without losing any of the business you have already built up – how many businesses can you do that with?
