Hi, my name is Fran and I am a new mum to Oliver, born in early 2009. I currently live along the Kent / Sussex boarder. I have been running my business since early 2008 and just love the freedom it gives me and the amazing opportunity to stay at home with my little one and watch him grow up. I would love to help other mums (or expectant mum’s) experience this great opportunity.
The motivation for starting my business
Having recently married my partner of 7 years we knew that it wasn’t going to be long before we had children. I am a very active person and expected that I would always want some business interest when I became a mum but that I wouldn’t want to leave my little one with carers whilst I worked the hours that someone else dictated. I stumbled across this business when I met Karen, my sponsor, who offered to help me reduce my bills. It seemed to be the perfect opportunity to give me the freedom I wanted to earn money, have some independence, but also not miss out on being a full time mum.
What I like most about the business
Firstly, I love the freedom it gives me to work when, where and with who I want!
Secondly, I love the people I meet, both the customers and my colleagues. Although I am running my own business I don’t feel alone and have met some lifelong friends through the business.
Finally, I love that fact that through my job I am genuinely helping people, weather that is by saving them money or showing them how to generate a significant income. It is such a fulfilling thing to do and can feel so rewarding.
What I plan to do with my income
In the short time I love being able to help contribute to our house hold bills and keep some financial independence. It has been fantastic through my maternity leave to have a residual income that I get paid even when I am not active in the business! Longer term, as well as keeping my financial independence I hope to use my income to take my family on lovely holidays each year and also give us choices such as private school education and university for our children if that is what we feel is the best option at the time.
Advice I would give to someone considering starting this business
If you like talking to people you have all you need to be successful in this business. You will not be on your own so you can be confident that if you have the desire to succeed you will be fully supported. Finally, this is a risk free business to try out – there is no stock, not huge up front costs – so why not give it a go, you never know, it might really work for you like it has for me.
